Ekphrasis--A Poetry Journal

Ekphrasis is a poetry journal looking for well-crafted poems, the main content of which addresses individual works from any artistic genre. Please identify the specific work that is the focus of your poem. Acceptable ekphrastic verse transcends mere description: it stands as transformative critical statement, an original gloss on the individual art piece it addresses.

Ekphrasis

submits poetry to the Pushcart Prize.  Each issue of the journal is also sent to Poetry Daily for their consideration. Poems from Ekphrasis have appeared on Poetry Daily. Work appearing in our pages is eligible for the Ekphrasis Prize.

We are an extremely selective market, so if your work is not accepted on the occasion of your first submission, please don't hesitate to submit again.

We read submissions year round.

We bring out two issues annually, one in the spring and one in the fall.
